Ron Pitch
Words from Bob

He was a musician dedicated to the music. He loved life. He loved his family unconditionally. But to Ron, music was everything. The dedication he had was so intense, he never rested until there were no more dates open, for his band to play. We used to laugh that we never really had a life, until Ron started booking the band. Then it was a whirlwind adventure. We traveled everywhere..... NewYork, New Jersey, and, of course, Pa....... I used to wonder how we would ever survive. In fact, one year, the month was July, we were booked 28 out of 31 days. That was incredible........Even one of the older band members had to quit or get a divorce, because of our busy band schedule. Hickory Rose was Ron's *LoveChild*..... He put his wife Phyllis on the stage, and with her talent, the band became well-known.........Even up to his passing, he would attempt to play, till physically, he couldn't anymore.

Our area lost a wonderful man, as seen by those who attended his viewing. The anniversary of his passing has gone by, and I just felt compelled to write something for the Hickory Rose website.....................

Friends remember him as a dedicated musician, a friend, a family man, and to me...... MY BROTHER.

We will
always
remember Ron

Background music: Life's Railway to Heaven, performed by Patsy Cline and Willie Nelson.

(As recorded by Patsy Cline 7/3/59)

Life is like a mountain railroad
With an engineer that's brave
We must make the run successful
From the cradle to the grave

Watch the curves, the hills, and tunnels
Never falter, never fail
Keep your hand upon the throttle
And your eyes upon the rail

Blessed Savior, Thou will guide us
Till we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In that great forevermore............
